A Mill Village That Kept Growing
Spray foam insulation in Lexington covers two kinds of homes. Wikipedia traces the village to a water-powered sawmill built on the Clear Fork of the Mohican River in 1813; the railroad came through in 1850 and by 1853 more than 50 businesses were in town. The older houses along Main Street date from that era and later. The village has grown well beyond its core since, reaching 4,848 residents in the 2020 census.
Along the Clear Fork
Houses near the river and low ground can have damp basements and crawl spaces. Before we foam a rim joist or basement wall, we check for water marks and efflorescence. Closed-cell foam handles damp air, but liquid water has to be dealt with first.
Newer streets
Lexington's newer neighborhoods tend to need attic sealing and rim joist work rather than wall insulation. Rooms over garages and bonus rooms are frequent calls.
Racing traffic
The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course sits just outside the village in Troy Township, and some owners ask about sound. Open-cell foam in walls and ceilings during a remodel dampens noise as well as heat.
Older village homes versus subdivisions
In the village core, houses from the late 1800s and early 1900s usually need everything: rim joist, attic sealing and walls. In subdivisions built in recent decades, the shell is tighter and the work is targeted. Either way we price each space separately, so a homeowner on West Main Street and one in a newer cul-de-sac each get a quote that fits the house.

Lexington Questions
Can foam help with noise from Mid-Ohio?
Open-cell foam in walls and ceilings reduces sound transmission, best installed when walls are open.
My basement gets damp in spring. Can you still insulate?
We check first. If water comes through the wall, that gets fixed before foam goes on.
Do you work in Troy Township outside the village?
Yes, including farms and rural homes around Lexington.
How long does a typical Lexington job take?
A rim joist and attic job is often done in one day. Walls and full foam jobs can take two or three days, plus the time to stay out after spraying.
